Rosalie rolled over.
She thought about last night. “Why does Mum, Dad and Mimi need to know?” she groaned to herself.
At the table Rosalie glanced at the morning newspaper. Something caught her eye. She looked closer. She gave a frightened gasp at what she saw:
Rosalie kept thinking about it all day.
That night before the whinny came Rosalie crept out of bed and made her way to the kitchen. She wrote a note and left it on the bench. She ran outside and looked at her watch in the moonlight. It was past midnight. “Oh no,” she groaned. Rosalie broke into sobs. She ran to the hill where she always met Dawn and there, by her feet, were footprints and hoofprints. She looked around.
Then Rosalie ran, she ran beside the hoofprints.
“I’m coming Dawn!” she screamed.

What do you think has happened?
Peony is the foal by the way.
